How to calibrate for high-altitude brewing?
SAKI Team
If you live at a higher elevation (typically above 2,000 ft), water boils at a temperature lower than 212°F. If you don't calibrate the machine, it will struggle to reach a target it physically cannot hit, causing the pump to run continuously or the cycle to never "finish."
Here is how to tell your Tea Maker exactly where it lives so it works perfectly.
Step 1: Access the Menu
- Make sure the Tea Maker is plugged in and the screen is awake.
- Press and Hold the "Menu" button (or the center Dial, depending on your specific interface version) for about 3 seconds.
- Release when you see the settings menu appear on the digital display.
Step 2: Find the Altitude Setting
- Turn the Dial (or use the +/- buttons) to scroll through the options until you see "Altitude" or "Elevation".
- Press the button to select it.
Step 3: Input Your Elevation
You will likely see a numerical value (either in feet/meters or a boiling temperature point).
-
Rotate the dial to adjust the setting to match your local altitude.
- Example: If you are in Denver (5,280 ft), set it to approx 5,200 ft or set the boiling point to 202°F.
- Why this works: The machine now knows that "100% Boiled" equals 202°F (or your local max), not 212°F.
Step 4: Save and Exit
- Press the button one last time to confirm your selection.
- The screen should return to the home display.
Success Check: The next time you run a "Boil" cycle, the machine should heat up, reach your local boiling point, and then automatically switch to "Keep Warm" (Blue/Green ring) without stalling or erroring out.
