Keeping your PureSense™ sensors clean is vital for the "zero guesswork" experience, as these sensors are the "eyes" that detect peak foam and prevent overflow.

While the PureSense™ technology is designed to shield the sensing path from steam, a little maintenance goes a long way. Here is how to keep them in top shape:

1. Identify the Sensor Area

The sensors are located on the upper part of the brewing chamber (the bridge above where the pot sits). This area monitors the foam rise and steam levels.

2. Daily "Quick Wipe"

  • After each use, or at the end of the day, use a soft, dry, or slightly damp microfiber cloth.
  • Gently wipe the sensor window to remove any condensation, steam residue, or rare coffee splashes.
  • Crucial: Ensure the cloth is non-abrasive to avoid scratching the sensor lens, which could lead to "cloudy" readings.

3. Weekly Deep Clean

  • If you notice the machine stopping too early or late, there might be a thin film of residue.
  • Use a cloth dampened with a tiny amount of water (no soap needed) to wipe the area.
  • Follow up immediately with a dry cloth to ensure there are no water spots or streaks left behind.

What to Avoid

  • Chemical Cleaners: Never use glass cleaners, alcohol, or abrasive chemicals on the sensors.
  • Scrubbing: The sensor area is delicate; light pressure is all you need.
  • Running Water: Never hold the power base under a faucet to clean the sensors.

Why It Matters

Clean sensors mean the Peak Foam Detection can "see" the bubbles clearly, allowing the SandBrew™ technology to cut the heat at the precise millisecond your foam reaches its peak.
