One of the most annoying things about traditional kettles is walking back into the kitchen only to find your water has gone cold. The Luna Electric Kettle Pro solves this with its "Hold" function, but the duration depends on how you configure it.
The Short Answer: Up to 2 Hours
While many smart kettles cap out at 30 or 60 minutes, the Luna Pro offers extended flexibility. By default, most units are set to 60 minutes, but you can customize this to fit your schedule.
How to Adjust the Hold Duration
If the standard one-hour hold isn't enough for your long Sunday brunch, here is how to extend it.
1. Enter the Settings Menu.
- Ensure the kettle screen is on.
- Press and hold the dial (or the Menu button) for 3 seconds until the settings list appears.
2. Navigate to "Hold Time."
- Turn the dial until you see the "Hold" or "Keep Warm" timer option.
- Press the dial to enter.
3. Choose Your Duration.
You can typically cycle through these presets:
- 0 Minutes: (Off/Standard Boil)
- 30 Minutes: For quick breaks.
- 60 Minutes: (The Standard Default)
- 120 Minutes: For when you need hot water available all morning.
4. Save.
- Press the dial to confirm your choice. Now, whenever you press the "HOLD" button during brewing, it will use this new duration.
Safety Note
Why does it stop after 2 hours? This is a safety feature. Forgetting a heating appliance is easy to do, and the auto-shutoff ensures the kettle doesn't run dry or waste electricity indefinitely.
