If your SAKI Turkish Tea Maker Pro is not reaching your selected temperature or is taking much longer than usual to heat up, it is typically related to mineral buildup or a setting adjustment rather than a mechanical failure.

Here are the most common reasons and how to fix them:

1. Mineral Buildup (Limescale)

This is the leading cause of heating issues. If a layer of white or chalky mineral deposits forms on the bottom of the kettle, it acts as an insulator between the heating element and the water.

  • The Symptom: The unit stays on, but the water never reaches a full boil, or the digital screen shows the temperature rising very slowly.
  • The Fix: Perform a descaling cycle using white vinegar or citric acid as outlined in the maintenance guide. This will clear the sensors and allow the heat to transfer directly to the water again.

2. Incorrect Altitude Calibration

The Pro model features Altitude Calibration, which adjusts the boiling point based on your elevation. If this is calibrated incorrectly, the unit may "think" it has reached boiling point before it actually has.

  • The Symptom: The unit stops heating and switches to "Hold" mode while the water is only simmering.
  • The Fix: 1. Go into the Settings menu using the smart dial.
  1. Select Altitude.
  2. Reset the calibration while the kettle is at your current location. This ensures the sensors know exactly at what temperature water boils in your specific kitchen.

3. Insufficient Water Level

The smart sensors are designed to prevent the unit from overheating if the water level is too low.

  • The Symptom: The heating process starts but cuts out quickly, or you see a "No Water" alert.
  • The Fix: Always ensure the water is above the MIN line marked on the inside of the bottom stainless steel kettle.

4. Heavy "Tea Concentrate" Loading

If the top teapot is filled with a very large amount of cold water and dense tea leaves, it can act as a "heat sink," drawing warmth away from the bottom kettle.

  • The Fix: Ensure the bottom kettle is filled to at least the halfway point to provide enough steam power to heat the top pot effectively.

If the Issue Persists

If the kettle remains cold even though the screen indicates it is "Heating":

  1. Check the Connection: Ensure the bottom of the kettle and the power base are completely dry and free of debris.
  2. Reset: Unplug the unit for 30 minutes to reset the internal thermostat.
  3. Contact Support: If the heating element does not engage at all, please reach out to us at support@sakiproducts.com.
