Every boil leaves mineral traces behind, and over time that limescale makes your Luna Pro slower to heat and duller inside. In this walkthrough you’ll descale your kettle in minutes using the Saki Descaler packets included in the box (three per kettle, one for each monthly clean), from the first boil-and-soak to the final rinse. No packets on hand? We’ll also show you the white vinegar method that works in a pinch. A few minutes of care once a month, and Luna keeps brewing at its best.

Descaling Your Luna Pro, Step by Step
1 Know When It’s Time 0:01
Minerals build up on Luna’s heating surfaces with every boil. For most homes, descaling once a month keeps performance like new; if you live in a hard-water area, descale more often.
2 Unplug and Cool Down 0:31
Before you start, unplug your Luna Pro and let it cool completely. Then lift the kettle off its base.
3 Add Water, Then Descaler 0:43
Fill the kettle halfway with fresh water and pour in one Saki Descaler packet. Always add the powder to water, never into a dry kettle. Every Luna Pro ships with three packets in the box, one for each monthly clean.
4 Boil and Let It Sit 0:57
Place Luna back on the base and run a full boil at 212°F. Once it’s done, let the solution sit for 20 to 30 minutes, enough time for the descaler to dissolve the buildup.
5 Pour Out and Rinse 1:11
Pour out the solution, then rinse the inside two or three times with fresh water. For heavy buildup, run the process once more. Luna is ready for your next cup.
6 Out of Descaler? Use Vinegar 1:20
Fill the kettle halfway with a one-to-one mix of white vinegar and water. Boil, let it sit for 30 to 60 minutes, then pour out and rinse. Run one more boil with fresh water to clear any vinegar scent. Vinegar works, but for best results and to protect Luna’s longevity, we recommend the Saki Descaler.
