Setting Up Your Tea Maker Pro, Step by Step

1 Set Up Safely 0:05

Always fill the kettle away from the base, never under the tap: this protects the electronic base and its connection points. Use filtered water whenever possible for the cleanest flavor, and fill above the minimum line but never above maximum. Place the teapot on top with the spout facing away from walls or cabinets, set Tea Maker Pro securely on its base, and plug it in. Heating begins only when the connection is complete.

2 Make It Your Own 0:39

On first use, turn the dial to choose and press to confirm. Select your language, choose Fahrenheit or Celsius, then enter your city’s altitude: Tea Maker Pro uses it to calculate the exact boiling point at your elevation. Choose how long you’d like your tea held at temperature, up to 2 hours, then exit the menu. For the full menu tour, see the smart base menu walkthrough.

3 Prepare with Two Boils 1:11

Before your first brew, run two boils. First, fill the kettle, bring it to a full boil at 212°F / 100°C, and pour the water out; this first boil rinses the kettle clean. Fill again and run a second boil: this time the water stays clean, and as it heats it sterilizes every surface it touches. Pour the clean boiling water into the teapot, swirl gently, pour it out, and place the teapot back on top. Tea Maker Pro is ready for everyday use.

4 Load the Infuser 1:57

Now for the ritual it was built for. Fill the kettle and lift the lid; the magnetic infuser rises with it. Add 2 teaspoons of loose black tea per cup directly into the infuser, then replace the lid. The infuser stays suspended above the water, keeping the leaves dry and ready.

5 Brew with Saki Classic 2:20

Place the teapot on the kettle and select Saki Classic, our preset for traditional Turkish tea. As the water heats below, the leaves wait above. Once the water reaches a boil, lift the lid, pour the boiling water into the teapot, and replace the lid: now the leaves meet the water and brewing begins. Refill the kettle and run Saki Classic once more; the second boil keeps steam moving through the system, gently warming the brew above. Let the tea steep for 10 to 15 minutes until it develops a deep amber color.

6 Serve to Taste 3:00

Pour the concentrate from the teapot first, then add hot water from the kettle. Less water creates a stronger cup; more water creates a lighter one. The way Turkish tea has been served for generations, now with precision.

7 Explore Presets or Dial It In 3:15

Beyond Classic, four more presets are each inspired by a different mood: light Ephesus, gentle Mediterranean, balanced Istanbul, and full-bodied Anatolian. One touch is all it takes. And the magnetic infuser does more than hold the leaves: as tea is poured and the water level falls, the leaves gradually separate from the brew, helping prevent oversteeping. When you want complete control, set your own temperature in precise 1-degree increments anywhere from 104°F to 212°F.

8 After Brewing 4:24

Don’t leave water sitting inside the kettle. Empty it and allow the interior to dry: it’s better for hygiene and helps reduce limescale buildup over time. When descaling day comes, follow the clean and descale guide.
