If your machine stops brewing unexpectedly, it's usually one of the smart safety sensors doing its job to protect your machine or your countertop.

Here are the most common reasons why the brewing might have cut out:

1. Peak Foam Detection (The "Success" Stop)

This is the most likely reason. The machine uses a sensor to track the foam rise. Once the foam reaches its maximum height, the machine stops heating automatically to prevent the foam from collapsing or burning.

  • Indicator: You should hear a series of beeps, and the pulsing light will change back to solid white.

2. Empty Cup Detection

The machine can sense if there is not enough water in the stainless steel pot. If it detects a dry pot, it will stop before brewing begins to prevent a "dry boil" and protect the internal heating elements.

  • Fix: Ensure you are using at least one full cup (70ml) of water.

3. Overspill Sensor Protection

If the foam expands too rapidly or too high (common if you exceed the 4-cup limit or use too much sugar), the Overspill Sensor will cut the power immediately to prevent a mess.

  • Fix: Ensure you are below the MAX line inside the pot and using the correct 1:10 ratio.

4. Sensor Obstruction (PureSense™ Alert)

If the PureSense™ sensor area on the base is blocked by excessive steam, residue, or a splash of coffee, the machine might lose its "clear reading" and stop for safety.

  • Fix: Gently wipe the sensor area (on the bridge above the pot) with a dry, soft cloth.

Quick Troubleshooting Checklist

  • Pot Seating: Ensure the stainless steel cezve is pushed all the way back on the base.
  • Minimum Volume: The sensors need at least 70 ml to read correctly.
  • Cleanliness: A quick wipe of the sensor bridge usually solves most "false stops."

For the best results and to prevent sensor errors, I recommend using SAKI Traditional Turkish Coffee. It is ground to the precise powdery consistency required for a perfect, consistent foam rise.
