Every boil leaves mineral traces behind on your Tea Maker Pro’s heating surfaces, and over time that limescale makes water slower to heat and dulls the inside of the kettle. In this walkthrough you’ll descale it in minutes using the Saki Descaler packets included in the box (three per machine, one for each monthly clean), from the first boil-and-soak to the final rinse. Descaling Your Tea Maker Pro, Step by Step
1 Know When It’s Time 0:01
Minerals build up on the heating surfaces with every boil, so water takes longer to heat and the inside of the kettle loses its shine. For most homes, descaling once a month keeps Tea Maker Pro performing like new; if you live in a hard-water area, descale more often.
2 Unplug, Cool, and Remove the Teapot 0:34
Before you start, unplug your Tea Maker Pro and let it cool completely. Lift the teapot off and set it aside, then take the kettle off its base.
3 Add Water, Then Descaler 0:44
Fill the kettle halfway with fresh water and pour in one Saki Descaler packet. Always add the powder to water, never into a dry kettle. Every Tea Maker Pro ships with three packets in the box, one for each monthly clean.
4 Boil and Let It Sit 0:59
Place the kettle back on the base and run a full boil at 212°F. Once it’s done, let the solution sit for 20 to 30 minutes, enough time for the descaler to dissolve the buildup.
5 Rinse and Reassemble 1:16
Pour out the solution, then rinse the inside two or three times with fresh water. For heavy buildup, run the process once more. Place the teapot back on top, and your Tea Maker Pro is ready for your next cup of tea.
6 Out of Descaler? Use Vinegar 1:28
Fill the kettle halfway with a one-to-one mix of white vinegar and water. Boil, let it sit for 30 minutes, then pour it out and rinse. Run one extra fresh-water boil to clear any vinegar smell. Vinegar works, but for best results and to protect Tea Maker Pro’s longevity, we recommend the Saki Descaler.
