Pub fries are traditionally oven-baked potato wedges made from russet potato peeled or unpeeled. Pub fries are a perfect gluten-free side dish for any meat dish, either steak, chicken, or fish. They also go great as snacks to satisfy food cravings.

We are going to make pub fries in the air fryer in this recipe instead of baking them in the oven. Making pub fries in the air fryer is the easiest and healthiest way to cook them.

Let’s move on to the recipe below!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds russet potatoes, well-scrubbed or peeled

  • 1½ tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer by selecting the “French fries” function and setting the timer to 3 minutes. Once you press the “Start/Pause” button, it will start warming up.

  2. Cut the potatoes into ½-inch thick wedges and place in a bowl.

  3. Add olive oil, garlic powder, and salt into the bowl and mix them with potato wedges.

  4. Pour the potatoes into the rotating basket, or into the regular air fryer basket if your air fryer does not have a rotating basket.

  5. Open the air fryer, put the potatoes in, and close the air fryer.

  6. Set the timer to 25 minutes and press the “Start/Pause” button to start frying.

  7. Cook the potato wedges until they are golden brown and crispy.

  8. Shake the air fryer basket halfway through cooking if the potatoes are not in a rotating basket.

  9. Once cooked, open the air fryer, and transfer the potato wedges onto a serving platter.

  10. Your pub fries are ready! Serve them warm with your preferred dipping sauce.
